Puppies should be introduced to the grooming salon as soon as possible after their vaccinations. Early visits help build confidence, create positive associations, and reduce stress for future grooms. Gentle, short sessions allow your puppy to become familiar with the sights, sounds, and handling involved, setting them up for a lifetime of calm and comfortable grooming.

We recommend that all puppies under six months complete a series of these sessions before their first full groom. 

This gradual approach provides a safe, positive introduction and helps build a strong, trust-based foundation. Suitable from around 12 weeks (post-vaccination) up to six months, each session is designed with your puppy's comfort and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.

Our approach focuses on gentle, stress free grooming exposure, with appointments spaced every 1 to 2 weeks. This consistency helps your puppy feel safe, relaxed, and confident in the salon environment. We'll also offer guidance and support for home care, so you can continue building positive grooming habits between visits.

Step One: Getting to Know Each Other (20 - 30 minutes)

Your puppy's first visit is all about creating a calm, positive introduction to the salon. We gently introduce them to the environment, sounds, and handling, with plenty of reassurance, light interaction, and time to explore at their own pace.

You're very welcome to stay, relax, and enjoy a cup of tea while your puppy settles in and begins to feel comfortable 

Step Two: Building Confidence (60 – 90 minutes)

As your puppy becomes more familiar with the salon, we begin gently building their confidence in the grooming process. This session includes a warm bath, gentle massage, and a blow dry, along with gradual introductions to light scissoring, clipping, ear cleaning, and nail trimming.

Each step is carried out slowly and carefully, always prioritising your puppy’s comfort, so they feel safe, relaxed, and confident throughout.

Step Three: The Full Grooming Experience (90–120 minutes)

This session gives your puppy a full, positive grooming experience 
It includes a bath, a gentle blow dry, brushing, face tidy, nail trim, ear clean, and a light coat trim or clip.

By this stage, your puppy will feel more confident and familiar with the grooming process, making it easier for them to move smoothly into their regular adult grooming routine.

Your puppy's individual needs will always guide us. If needed, we may recommend repeating a step to help build confidence and ensure they feel happy and secure before progressing. Any additional sessions will be charged accordingly.
