What is Emmi-Pet?

Emmi-Pet is an ultrasonic oral hygiene system designed specifically for pets. Unlike a traditional toothbrush, there is no brushing or scrubbing action. The specially designed toothbrush and toothpaste work together using ultrasound to support the cleaning of the teeth and gum line.

The treatment is quiet and gentle, making it suitable for many dogs who are comfortable having their mouth and teeth handled.

Manual Teeth Cleaning

We also offer gentle manual teeth cleaning for dogs, where this may be preferred or more suitable. Using appropriate dog-safe dental products, we can help remove accessible surface plaque and build-up as part of your dog's regular oral hygiene routine.

Choose Emmi-Pet ultrasonic cleaning, gentle manual cleaning, or a combination of both, depending on your dog's needs and tolerance.

What Can Emmi-Pet Help With?

What Emmi-Pet Cannot Do

It is important to understand that Emmi-Pet teeth cleaning is not a veterinary dental treatment and does not replace regular veterinary dental checks.

We cannot diagnose or treat dental disease.

If we notice anything that concerns us, such as significant tartar build-up, inflamed or bleeding gums, loose or damaged teeth, swelling, obvious discomfort or another potential dental problem, we may recommend that your dog be assessed by your vet before continuing.

Some dogs will require professional veterinary dental treatment before maintenance cleaning with Emmi-Pet is appropriate.

What Happens at an Appointment?

Before beginning, we'll take a little time to allow your dog to become comfortable with us handling around their face and mouth.

We will never force a dog to accept teeth cleaning. For unsure dogs, we can work gradually and introduce the toothbrush at their own pace. 

Some dogs may need more than one visit before they are comfortable enough for a full session — and that's absolutely fine.

Each dog has their own individual Emmi-Pet toothbrush head, which is kept specifically for them for future appointments.
