The Stables Dog Grooming is a small, family run salon run by mother and daughter team Claire and Rachel.

Love and care for animals have always been a big part of our family, and that same ethos sits at the heart of The Stables. We’re also delighted to work alongside other members of our family who are qualified canine hydrotherapists, bringing together different areas of knowledge and experience with one shared aim — supporting the comfort, health and wellbeing of the dogs in our care.

For us, grooming is about much more than how a dog looks — how they feel matters just as much.

Every dog is different, so we take a calm, individual and behaviour-led approach to grooming. We take time to get to know the dog in front of us, understand what they are comfortable with and adapt their groom wherever we can to help them feel safe and relaxed.

From a puppy taking their first steps into grooming to regular appointments, senior dogs and those who are nervous, anxious, sensitive or living with health or mobility challenges, their physical and emotional wellbeing will always come first.

Qualified, Professional & Always Learning

Claire and Rachel are both C&G and iPET Level 3 Diploma qualified dog groomers and hold iPET Level 3 Canine Emergency First Aid qualifications.  The Stables is fully insured.

We continue to learn and regularly undertake further training and CPD to broaden the care and understanding we bring to our grooming. Claire also holds a Level 3 Award in Canine Oral Health, with particular interests in skin and coat health, oral care, nutrition and canine massage therapy.

Rachel is continuing her specialist studies in L5 canine behaviour, working towards becoming a qualified canine behaviourist. Her growing knowledge helps shape how we support dogs who are nervous, anxious or sensitive, or who simply find parts of the grooming process difficult.

Once fully qualified, Rachel will be able to offer more specialised behavioural support and, where appropriate, work alongside veterinary and other canine professionals to develop individual support plans.

Our aim is simple: to provide excellent professional grooming while helping every dog feel safe, understood and comfortable.
